Once your dog starts taking some steps it is important there is good traction:
Use rubber backed rugs on slippery floors. Keep the nails trimmed and fur between the pads trimmed so that the pads contact the floor. Booties can be used for traction and to protect nails and paws if you dog is dragging or knuckling (walking on the back of the paw).
Block any access to stairs and favorite furniture to prevent falling or jumping.
